#100 - Kevin Spacey, LinkedIn Games, How to lose weight in 4 easy steps & Comparison
21st June 2024
Hello everyone,
Wow!! I hit 100. 100 weekly emails. I’m proud of this achievement, so to celebrate this I’ve something in store for you when I complete 2 years of writing this every week (except for maybe couple of misses). That comes up on the 103th edition of this which is just 3 weeks away. 🙂
How are you doing? Winter is here in Melbourne, the days are colder and mornings darker which makes it hard to wake up. So we have started getting up a little later than usual. It’s not a bad thing as such, but now I start working in about 1 hour of waking up instead of two. Men’s T20 Cricket World cup is going on, I’ve been pretty good and not stayed up till 4-5am to watch these matches. Who do you think will win the trophy? I feel India’s chances are slim.
This week I’ve a podcast episode, a new feature, a blog and quote for you to ponder.
Kevin Spacey is easily in my Top 10 favourite actors. I understand he was caught in a huge sexual harassment allegations, so hear me out!! The Usual Suspects, Se7en, American Beauty, House of cards to name a few are some of his best works. With two Academy Awards he’s in a very elite group of actors. So as an actor he’s fantastic. As a person, maybe not as good. This podcast does shed some light and shows he’s done some mistakes and is apologetic about it. But is that good enough?
Social media apps want to make you spend as much time as possible in their apps. That’s the only way, they can make money with their ads. Guess who has jumped on the bandwagon too? LinkedIn. They have launched something called LinkedIn games. You can pay these games and invite your colleagues to play along with you and form a leaderboard. You can check out the games here. At the moment they only have three games and a good thing about it is, you can only play it once a day.
You write a blog post, it blows up and gets millions of views. It’s so popular that its made into a 7 minute Short film. The blog is called How to lose weight in 4 easy steps. The short film has the same name as well. It’s a good read and the short film is nice as well.
Don't compare yourself with anyone in this world. If you do so, you are insulting yourself. - William Henry Gates (An American Businessman and Co-Founder of Microsoft)
That’s it for this week.
Have a great weekend everyone. See you all in the next one.
Take care, Be Kind and Be Good!!
